As per the CBCSS regulations outlined by the university, debate is an activity from the participation of which, a First Degree Programme student has to earn one credit during the third and fourth semesters. The college Debate Club is guided by the following objectives:

• To increase the confidence and proficiency of students in public speaking
• To develop their analytical and critical thinking capabilities, and by extension, improve their debating skills
• To keep students abreast of current affairs and issues of social relevance

Club members actively participate in various inter-collegiate elocution and debating competitions.
